Guidelines for Requesting a Speaker
- Be very clear about the content and themes which would be
most suitable to your group
- Provide detailed, yet concise information about your event
and what you hope the speaker will achieve
- Before you begin the request process, please ensure you
have as complete details as possible about your event (i.e. sponsorship,
media, ticket prices, promotional material information).
- For many speakers, professional audio/visual and technical
support may be required.
- The sooner you submit your request the better. 2010
Speakers Bureau presenters are in demand so the sooner you apply, the greater
likelihood we can confirm a suitable speaker.
- Some speakers meet with communities as part of their
ongoing commitment to the 2010 legacy and there is no cost for their time. For
events outside of Vancouver, there may be a charge for travel and
accommodation.
For VANOC presenters, a financial donation to the
charitable organization, "Own the Podium" is welcomed in lieu of a speaker's
fee. VANOC proudly supports this initiative, which provides funding to
Canadian athletes to help them make their way to the top of the podium in
2010. To learn more about OTP, please visit their website at www.ownthepodium2010.com. If you
would like to learn more about the suggested donations for a range of VANOC
speakers, please contact Jenna Visram at 778.328.1244.
